Raw milk
Have any of you noticed improvements with the addition of raw milk? I switchtedthe boys over initially to raw dairy when we went gluten free. Then after 4months or so the doc had me pull all dairy for a month to see if we sawimprovements and we saw no changes. I began reading up on raw dairy again andcame across this blurb on an article on mercola.com
“Science cannot support the presumption that a casein-free diet reducesautistic symptoms. All the literature on casein restriction indicates this onlycauses a developmental delay. If an improvement is seen on a casein-free diet,it is only because of the removal of free lactose, and the removal ofconstipating foods. The very worst thing that you can do to a child coping withmercury is to wean them off of breast or raw milk. Weaning causes the hair andblood mercury levels to suddenly drop, and it is re-routed to the colon forexcretion. If the child is constipated, it could mean real problems.”
taken from this articlehttp://www.mercola.com/2004/jun/26/autism_malnutrition.htm
I immediately re-added raw milk and swore never to take the kids off it againwithout SIGNIFICANT reason to do so.
Well then I started seeing changes, changes to the positive. And this is theonly thing I have changed dietary wise…..Matthew is more aware, he isresponding better to his name and is interacting more and making better eyecontact.
I can only credit this to the milk…..he has been out of school all week onschool vacation. This is the only significant change we made. Today he has beenrequesting raw milk cheese all day and is more aware than I have seen him in along time. He went to speech therapy today and she commented on his increasedawareness. He had a therapist work with him in the house this morning and shealso commented on his willingness to work and his attempting to say a fewwords…..
So is this anything anyone else has experienced? When we used raw milkpreviously we were here and there allowing tiny amounts of processed through(like in ingredient lists for bread mix or something). This time I have allowedNO processed and treat it like I would wheat….
I just thought I would share, perhaps some other children would also benefitfrom raw milk. Also was curious if anyone else has seen similiar results.
And since I am posting and have been meaning to ask, how many of you make rawmilk kefir? I have some kefir mix here and will be picking up more milk from thefarm tommorrow. So if you have any tips on starting that I would love to hearthem

Have any of you raw milk users tried organic, pasteurized milk? Iwonder if part of the problem with processed milk is the growthhormones and antibiotics that they give to cows that are not raisedorganically. Also, does anyone have experience with goat’s milk? Some people saythat goat’s milk is easier to digest, and healthier, than cow’s milk.My son doesn’t consume a lot of goat’s milk, but he seems to handlegoat’s milk products better than cow’s milk.
