Corn pops
I am still a list member, but haven’t posted in a LONG time. My son’sare now SCD for 19 months. My question is for a friend…She wasfeeding her son (who’s GFCF) Kellogs Corn Pops as she said it was inKaren’s book. I pointed out the book was written some time ago, and wealways have to read labels. It does say “wheat starch” on the label. Mykids are so much more restricted now, (no starches) I want to be sure Iam not overreacting, but can someone please confirm the status ofKellogs corn pops? I did try to do a search, but I am guessing it mayhave changed so long ago, I just can’t get anyhting to come up. Ofcourse its not on the GFCF diet list…. If wheat has gluten, no wheat, right? has something changed?

Wheat starch is what you have when you remove the gluten from thewheat. So theoretically, it is gf. However, I don’t know howeffective is the process for removing the gluten. Also, if your childis “allergic to wheat” or has problems with wheat beyond just thegluten portion, then your child might still have problems with wheatstarch even tho it is gf.
I do know several kids who do just fine with it tho. Advise themother to watch her child for reactions.
