Cookies from whole foods

My son would react to anything with a high glycemic index. Nana’s cookiesare no exception for him. It’s the fruit sugars and grains. If I give himsomething like that, I usually try to make sure he has had a meal with proteinand fat first. Then, he can usually do okay with moderation.

Does anyone know if these are ok? I thought I read on a list (can’tremember which one, checked and still can’t find post) that they wereok. My husband bought them yesterday; we gave them to our son, whodidn’t prefer them, but ate half of one. The package says NO GLUTENon the front. I go to read the ingredients (after he ate it and wasbouncing off the walls):

Ingredients (vegan): brown rice flour, tapioca flour, fruit juice,GLUTEN FREE WHOLE GRAIN DEXTRINS (A NATURAL AND UNMODIFIED STARCH),expeller pressed canola oil, baking soda (non aluminum), purevanilla, natural berry flavors.

It states in large print on the package:

No refined sugars, no dairy, no hydrogenated oils, no cholesterol, noeggs, no added salt and no cane or beet products.

Manufactured on shared equipment with tree nuts and or peanuts (bothof which are not supposed to be a problem for my son).

So, are these actually gluten free? Gluten is our worst offender. What does GLUTEN FREE WHOLE GRAIN DEXTRINS mean?
