Yeast and nystatin
We are using Nystatin now, which really sucks - if I may be so bold.My DS has been on it about three weeks now. I’m holding him down forevery dose as he is kicking, screaming, crying and spitting it back atme and I can’t really blame him. Since we had it compounded, it tastesawful, even though I have some GF/CF sugar free syrup I’m adding toit. I’m not even sure it’s doing anything for him. I’ve been wonderingtoo about something different - like GSE (grapefruit seed extract). From what I’ve read, it’s strong and needs to be administered for onlyabout 2-3 days and is highly effective.

So you had it compounded but did you have it compounded with Steviabase? If not then I can see why it taste aweful but when compoundedwith Stevia base it actually taste really good and my son couldn’tget enought of it. He practically begged for it. I’m curious as tohow you had it compounded. Instead of added GFCF syrup why don’t yougo to the health food store, purchase a bottle of Stevia (makesure “other ingredients” doesn’t say grapefruit seed extract) andput 1 vile of stevia in the bottle of Nystatin? That would probablyhelp a lot. The reason I say not to get Stevia with added grapefruitseed extract is b/c you don’t want to over do it with GSE. If you’realready giving GSE regularly then just get Stevia without GSE.

It is very effective, and usually eliminates yeast in about a week[unless you are doing other protocols that tend to increase yeast].But it also tastes really bad unless your child will swallow tabletsor capsules.
