No calcium supp
Hi there- I was curious…i was at a local GFCF support group meetinglast night (about 12 moms) and not one used a calcium sup. We use thepowder from kirkmans and one mom said that their DAN doc said not touse that..I can understand that some kids might have too much calciumin system but it seems odd that none use it. What about you guys?Who uses a calcium sup and if so which one- or why not XYZ? Feel freeto e-mail privately.
Question for mthfr moms
My husband and I are thinking of having another child and since we havehad two children with special needs (Down Syndrome, ASD)I would like tolower my homocysteine levels prior to conception. Jill James studysuggests taking daily 800 mcg folic acid, 500mg-1gram TMG, and 1 mg ofmethyl b-12. My question is that if I decide to do the methyl b-12 inthe form of a shot, how much should I take in ml? I really don’t wantto have to do more than one shot per week because I hate shots. Rightnow I am taking a lozenge of methyl-b12 but I question it’seffectiveness.
Potato intolerance
Anyone’s child have a potato intolerance. My daughter was completelyaddicted to them once we started the diet. I realized she hadn’teaten anything that way since we took away wheat (she could eat awhole bag of goldfish if we let her!) She had been off them for 3days and her rash started to clear up and she was eating baout aquarter of what she was eating. I decided to check and make sure thatit was potatoes that affected her soI gave her some fries tonight. She was like a wild animal. Giggling and laughing all over theplace. She was totally oblivious to us calling her-Suddenly, shecrashed. She laid on the floor and started to fall asleep! IS thiscommon? I realize we have to give up potatoes, but can it reallyaffect her that much…This diet is already so hard and she refusesall corn and rice things unless I mask them in tomato sauce.Another quick enzyme question…I gave her acidophilus yesterdaymorning and she drooled really bad all day. I saw some white flakesin her drool and she was real irritable. Could this be a sideeffect? What can you feed them if they can’t have potatoes?

My 3yr old DD has been on the gfcf diet for about 5-6 days. I noticedthat her feces are very dark and extremely smelly. Is this normal?
Also, can too much rice be constipating? My DD has not been going asregularly as she used to.
