I went to Northampton Wellness Associates in Northampton, MA and saw Dr.Darren Lynch. They were all very helpful and supportive including financialmy insurance Tufts covered the office visite and some testing. We saw himfor the 1st time last Tuesday. We felt quite comfortable with everyonethere.

I know everyone here can appreciate the expense of the diet, thesupplements, the DAN! visits, etc. We are in the open enrollment period for ourhealth insurance and can switch from an HMO to a PPO if we want. This wouldallow us to go “out of network” and still get a portion of standard treatmentsreimbursed, albeit at a lesser rate than if we stay “in network”. Has anyonehad any success getting their PPO to cover any of the cost of biomedicaltreatments? I am thinking specifically of testing through labs like GreatPlains or Doctor’s (we still have about $2500 in testing we need done) andspecially mixed supplements, etc. from compounding pharmacies? We are told thatthe doc is likely to recommend various supplements and things that will cost$150 per month - it would be worth it to choose a health plan that might helpreimburse for at least a portion of those expenses. We are considering HighmarkBlue Cross Blue Shield, anyone had any experience specifically with that insurer?

Of the two PPO is more beneficial to get claims paid. I use to workfor BCBS of Alabama and PPO is definately the best of the two.

Great Plains Laboratory ( http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com ) is PPOwith BCBS so if you have PPO insurance all of your labs will becovered. All of them….

Also if you find a DAN! who taken BCBS insurance then more thanlikely your PPO plan will cover him/her.

Of this whole journey I have seen our DAN! twice and only had to payour $25 co-payment. All of our labs have been covered at 100%, nomoney out of my pocket. BCBS PPO insurance also covers TD-DMSAchelation using NDC code 49452262004. write that NDC number down forfuture reference. It must be filed with that #. Sometimes pharmaciesdon’t have updated NDC codes and when the claim rejects in theirsystem they just make you pay full price for it.

Supplements will never be paid for by any insurance no matter what. The reason is that they are not FDA approved and they do not carryan NDC code.
