Need some advice please
Our son has been CF/GF for about a year now and hasshown great improvement in eye contact, behavior anddigestive “issues” Needless to say, he has done remarkably well. Forthe past 2-3 weeks he has had terrible diarreah, won’t look at us whenwe speak to him, and has been unusually hyper. My husband questionedhis teacher yesterday - and yes, he has been eating other kids’ food!Their explanation was “he is so fast, by the time we catch him it’s toolate”. The classroom has 1 head teacher, 3 aides, and 8 children! Cananyone offer advice on how to approach the school (the non-believers)and let them know how serious this is? His diet allergies are writtenon his school medical records, but not in his IEP - I should probablycall another IEP? If anyone else has experienced this - I wouldapprecitate the advice!

I am actually going to our IEP this morning and I will make surethat the diet is on his IEP. This is a huge concern of mine. Also Ihad his DAN! write a prescription for he GFCF and SCD diets and theywill have that on file. They kept telling me they would notimplement the diet without a script so, I got one.
I’m also making them put a water filter system in the classroom b/cmy son is chelating and I’m not having him drink their nasty tapwater or even wash his hands in there without a filter system on thefaucet.
My son turns 3 on Monday and I’ve been holding out on signing theIEP for 6 months now. They keep pressuring me to sign it b/c “we canrevise it at any time” but I said I don’t think so. And if it’s notlike I want it today then I’m not signing again. I could care lesswhat kind of penalty they get for not having the IEP signed beforehis 3rd b’day.

I agree with one of the other mom’s, get a dx or letter from you doctorsaying that he can not have these foods. The skepticle will pay more attentionif it is from a doctor. I know it’s not fair but sometimes we have to dowhatever works. Good Luck.
