Pizza–any suggestions?

First let me say I can’t cook at all. I bought a ready made crustlast week, and got Amy’s tradional Marinara and the Follow Your HeartVegan Mozzarella and thought it would be okay. Well, it was reallygross!! My 22 month old wouldn’t even touch it even though it lookedvery pretty. I tasted it and it was a good thing he didn’t.

I just received crusts from Kinnikinnick, does anyone have anysuggestions to make an edible pizza? What do you use as pizza sauce?I did buy Prego Traditional but is there any pizza sauce thats GFCF?Is this crust good?

I haven’t foudn a great crust at all but I created one and my sonLOVES it. Let me know if you want the recipe. email me atsashasrecovery @ yahoo.com

I purchase an organic sauce from Sam’s Club. It’s sort of like aCostco. It is GFCF and my son really loves it. It’s actually aspaghetti sauce.

When I make pizza I just use an organic spagetti sauce, and use allkinds of veggies as the toppings (mushrooms, baby spinich, squash, etc.) This is one of the only ways that I can get veggies into myson. We are soy free also, so I don’t even bother with trying toreplace the cheese. In fact, my husband and I have found that weprefer it without the cheese also. It’s guilt free pizza and ittastes great!

I also use an organic spagetti sauce and lots of veggies for toppings and my sonloves the Kinnikinnick pizza crusts. For a cheese-like topping that requiresonly a blender I use the following recipe from the Silver Hills cookbook:

    Pimento Cheese

1 C. water 1 C. cashews 2 TBsp. sesame seeds 1-1/2 tsp. salt 3 TBsp. yeast flakes(Bob’s Red Mill Nutritional Yeast is GFCF) 1-1/2 tsp. onion powder 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 C. pimentos 1/4 C. lemon juice

Blend the cashews and water until smooth. Add all other ingredients and blenduntil smooth.

I just pour it on the pizza and toppings and sprinkle a bit of oregano on topand bake. My son loves it. Good Luck!

If you can do soy, Tofutti cheese is awesome! Usually melts prettygood. Wish they still made their shredded variety, but they just make slicesnow.

I use The Gluten Free Pantry French Bread and Pizaa crust mix. Thisway I can make the pizzas mini size. They freeze very well. I end upusing a spaghetti sauce as well and we use Tofutti Mozzarellaslices. We thought soy was a problem, but challenged it back in andhave not noticed anything so far.
