No calcium supp
Hi there- I was curious…i was at a local GFCF support group meetinglast night (about 12 moms) and not one used a calcium sup. We use thepowder from kirkmans and one mom said that their DAN doc said not touse that..I can understand that some kids might have too much calciumin system but it seems odd that none use it. What about you guys?Who uses a calcium sup and if so which one- or why not XYZ? Feel freeto e-mail privately.

Our DAN doc gave us the kirkman’s lab calcium supplement to use, butonly after we stopped giving our son ANY milk substitute. (Intolerantto everything!) When he was first on the milk substitutes (Dari free, almond milk, etc) they said a calcium supplement wasn’t necessary.

A local GFCF support group? I’m so jealous! Anyone know if there is onein the Greater Vancouver, BC area? My husband is tired of hearing aboutmy relentless search for food we will all eat and enjoy.

About the calcium supp. I was concerned as you are about my childrenscalcium after cutting out milk. Our specialist said to use anycalcium supplement as long as it didn’t have vit D. Well practicallyevery supp I came across has vit D. I just found a gummy bear that’sjust calcium. It’s made by L’il Critters ( they make those gummybears vitamins) and I found them a Costco. They are fabulous.

My son was calcium toxic, so I actually used UP6 [a demineralizer] toremove the excess. Any time I tried giving him a calcium supplement,he would severely regress.
Does your child press on his eyeballs? That is one sign of calciumdeficiency.
I would not use calcium without magnesium, because calcium is not wellabsorbed unless it has magnesium with it.

I made a typo. This should be IP6.
