Digestive enzymes

I have a question about digestive enzymes. I have heard of them being usedfor emergency purposes (counteracting an accidential diet infringement) butit seems that many of you are using them on your children as a routine thing. I’d like to know why the are necessary/helpful if your child isalready on the with strict compliance. I am exploring the nextlevel of this regime and am wondering if the enzymes are something I shouldbe researching for the future.

I’ll try to be brief. I tried Creon for the same reason, after strictlygfcf for over a year, only to clean up stray peptides. My son is kind ofafraid of food so never really had any accidental infringements. We weresurprised when he had big cognitive gains after taking it. I relate it toextremely poor absorption. I just posted recently that he was 47 lbs forabout 3 years and since being on Creon for the last 9 months or so is now58 lbs. So not only is he absorbing his food better, but his supplementsand medications too.

CAUTION: It was very beneficial for us to back way down on his Nu-thera,which I just figured out recently. If he needed much more because hewasn’t absorbing much of anything in the past, and now that issue has beeneffectively treated - then it makes good sense to reduce the level ofmegavitamins he had been on. He still takes 1 snt a day and that seems towork out ok.

The chiropractor who treats my son said it helps heal the gut so hewould absorb nutrients. She could tell from his blood work that hewasn’t absorbing well. He just finished the last bottle of enzymesyesterday. He only took them for about 4 months. I suppose everyoneis different. He took 3 different types of enzymes.

My son is 2yrs 8 months and we have been GFCF andsoy free for 7 months, corn free for 6 months, and rice free for 5days. We are making some nice progress but my son seems to besensitive to every food in the world. We are currently useingKIrkman’s Enzymcomplete with DPPIV. I have read about Peptizyde fromHouston and wonder if anyone believes one to be better then another.
