Gluten infraction, alkaline chocolate
My son has been doing well on GFCF. He is 4. We have been on it forabout 2 weeks, after a week or so of withdrawal symptoms, he wasgreat for the last 3 or 4 days. Yesterday, however, he went to aplay date and the mom (with my permission ) gave him two traderjoe’s mini meringue cookies, chocolate, for dessert. She is nothome right now but I remember there were no dairy in the ingredientsthat she read to me, and she said the chocolate saidcocoa…alkaline process.
Right after the playdate he had his OT appt..and he was reallyhyper, and cried when he had to leave. We blamed it on schedulingthe playdate right before OT. Then today at preschool, afterseveral weeks of improvement, he had his worst day ever. Tantrumsall over the place, stuff smells bad, etc etc etc. Then he is veryclumsy getting out of the car and fell down. One of the teacherswas a sub today but this seems more pervasive.
SHould I suspect the cookies? HELP! Please tell me it was thecookies. I want this diet to work.
