Newbie–as immediate results??
We have a 12yos, diagnosed about a month ago with AS,high functioning, high intelligence. Started havingextreme emotional problems this past summer (diagnosedwith AS, ADHD, depression & anxiety disorders).
3 days ago we started him on a GFCF diet. That eveninghe told me he was feeling happy (for the first timesince July), recognizing that it must be justcoincidence. The next day (yesterday), he made thesame comment. Today, he’s still reporting that he’shappy.
Is it possible that removing gluten and casein couldhave such dramatic results the first day of a diet?
Fwiw, we’ve been eating well by ordinary standards allhis life, using OG dairy and meat products, grindingour own grain, using lots of spelt and some othergrains like millet instead of wheat alone, but by nomeans perfect (having had few qualms about eatinganything available, including junk food, whenconvenient or sociable), making most meals fromscratch, drinking distilled water, etc. This childalso was vaccinated at age 2 but only with polio andtetanus.

Yes–I believe it’s possible. My son was never a “casein” comsumer–no milk, occasional yogurt or cheese. We removed casein, then hestarted sleeping “normally” since his autism reared it’s head at 18mos–he is now 4. Also tried to be more verbal at that time as well.
Progress just got better after gluten was removed. We are knowwondering if soy or yeast may now be showing it’s face
