Soy dangers and rice milk substitution
Can anyone direct me to where I can get moreinformation on the dangers of substituting soy milkwhen going casein free? I’ve seen several post whereit has been mentioned that the chemical make up of soymilk is similar to casein. Our son is on a GFCF diet (borderline aspergers,PDD-NOS) and we have been substituting the cows milkwith soy milk. However, I have suspected recently thatthe soy is the road block to further progress and thatwe may also need to add enzymes.
Any thoughts/suggestions/comments would be greatlyappreciated!
Also, I’m still looking for the perfect homemade ricemilk recipe. I came close with a brown rice recipeand will pursue that - any other recipes, anyone?

The only place I have read about it was in ‘Children with StarvingBrains’ Dr. McCandles’s book. She doesn’t have a lot of detail just that it issimilar in chemical makeup and she recommends that parents automatically taketheir kids off of it too because sooo many react to it. Dana may have something on her site or atleast a link, she keeps up on stuffwww.danasview.net I use Dairy-free powder, have you tried it? It is a potatoebased milk sub. I order it on line. Almond Breeze is another that my son likes.

We used Blue Diamond almond milk for three years until we had to completelyremove soy. Blue Diamond contains soy lecithin. We did a trial with removingsoy protein, soy lecithin and soybean oil. Then we tried putting only soylecithin back in. We got a huge reaction.
Everyone’s sensitivities vary. Some are able to take soy with enzymes, orjust by cutting out the protein. In our case enzymes don’t help at all.Casein and soy are the most serious offenders, with corn coming in a closesecond, then gluten, citrus, coconut and palm.
