Chocolate cake,pretzels,popcorn

I’m looking for your recommendations for a GREAT chocolate cake (or cupcakes, ifthey turn out better), what popcorn is OK (any prepackaged microwave, or would Ibe better off making it at home to send to school) and are Ener-G pretzelsavailable in HFS, or only online? (It IS Ener-G brand that you all recommend, isn’t it?)THANK YOU!I need the cake recipe (or mix, whatever) for a party this Sunday. And, I justfound out this AM that my son’s school gives the kids a choice of snack eachday….cereal, popcorn, or pretzel sticks. So, I need to find acceptablesubstitutes to send in for them ASAP!

I’ve been happy with The Really Great Food Company’s chocolate cakemix. I’ve used it for 3 birthdays. Never tried cupcakes. Riceflour will unfortunately make most cakes drier appearing and tastingthan wheat, but even the non-gfcf people like this mix.

There is a brand of microwave popcorn called Bearitos which is gfcfand organic.

I find Ener-G pretzels at our local food co-op. You can always makea request for your store to carry this product or even order a casefor you. My kids LOVE the sesame pretzels.

Dr. Schar’s crackers from Miss Roben’s are good saltine substitutes, if yourchild can have soy. I like these myself–they’re almost like a Club cracker. Ican have them, but my daughter can’t have soy, so they’re out for her. :(Haven’t found a good one yet.

Check with the company on the Rice Dream, because not all flavors are GFCF.

The chocolate cake from NamasteFoods.com is awesome. Buy online or at WholeFoods.

I have bought no-butter micro popcorn from Whole Foods and Paul Newman brands.

Ener-G’s Wylde pretzels are available at some Whole Foods Markets.

EnivroKidz Panda Puffs or Gorilla Munch are good.

Namaste cake rocks, and I can’t even use eggs in it. I use bananas orapplesauce, make muffins and freeze them. They are great. Th espicecake is amazing too. I add a cup of shredded carrot, because my son,lik e his old mom, LOVEs carrot cake best. Their chocolate cake brandis FAR better than Bob’s Red Mill brownies.

I found a popcorn popper for $5 at a garage sale thi ssummer and I buyorganic popcorn and make it fresh. My son just loves it and I can sendit to school in his lunch.

I don’t have a pretzel option. I avoid soy and I haven’t found asubstitute that doesn’t have it in it.
