Looking for experiences w/ anti-yeat diet and methyl b-12 shots
I’ve got Rx filled for B-12 shots and am still deciding when/if tostart giving it. What has your experience been with theMethylcobalamin shots? I’ve also got Nystatin and thinking aboutwhen/how to start it and/or implement a stricter yeast-free diet usingthe “Feast without Yeast” 4 stages. I don’t want to change too manythings at once, so we can try to figure out what’s actually helping ornot. Our lab results are inconclusive about whether or not there’sreally a major yeast issue. TIA for your input.

What test did your child have that shows inconclusive for yeast? Ifyou have an Organic Acid Test (the main test ASD kids needs todetermine yeast) it will tell you straight up yes or not yeast or notand if so what type and the level. Consider retesting for yeast withan OAT test. We use Great Plains Lab http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com
When we starte MB-12 injections for the first time my son had so muchyeast that he had a bad reaction to the MB-12 shots. Once we treatedthe yeast for 3 months we started back on MB-12 and he’s doing great.Lots of babbling but no words yet. Better than not babbling though b/che didn’t even do that til’ MB-12.

Thanks so much for your input. I’m getting seriously concerned that Ihave to get so much information here instead of from my DANdoc. I’mgoing to have to find a more communicative DANdoc who actually answersmy questions - I’ve not got any response from her about these issues.Sigh.
We got the OAT test in August (from Great Plains) and my ds testedhigh for “arabinose” in the yeast/fungal category. We’ve been offyeast itself since June 2005 and taking probiotics (Kirkman Pro-Biogold) since April. I accidentally gave ds some yeast-bread (GFCF, ofcourse) in mid-September and he did show a possible negative response. In October we had a Comprehensive Stool Analysis through GreatPlains. This showed “none” for yeast microscopy, normal for all hisother intestinal/digestive markers, but low positive (1+) for theCandida Albicans under his “normal flora” culture, and some imbalancesin his bacteriology culture. According to the Great Plainsliterature, “treatment with antimicrobial agents is unnecessary unlessbacteria appear under the dysbiosis category,” which ds’s did not.And I’m not sure what to make of that low Candida Albicans reading, whether it really is “low” or not. I’ve also read (forget where) thatoveruse of antimicrobials can actually exacerbate a yeast problem.I’m sure it couldn’t hurt to start the anti-yeast diet, but I don’twant to make things “worse” with Nystatin if I don’t really need it.

I don’t think Nystatin will make anything worse really. Many parentsgive their child Nystatin as an anti-yeast even when the yeast islow. It’s just to keep it down and managable. Since the slightestthings can cause a yeast flair up it’s best to give some kind ofanti-yeast either natural or med like Nystatin just to make sure itdoesn’t get high again.
DAN!’s usually explain only the necessary. Unless you pressure themweek after week for answers then this message board is probably yourbest bet. I think all of our DAN!’s are about the same. Most of usget our info from other parents anyway and then follow up with ourDAN!’s about it through email or the next appointment. I wouldn’tchange DAN!’s unless you’re just completely unsatisfied b/c morethan likely you’ll have the same problem with the next one. That’swhy we all have the luxery of this message board. So many peoplehave been through it on here and we can ask anything. Many thingsdon’t even need a DAN!’s approval if it’s just supplements. Westarted several supplements without DAN! approval and a month laterwhen I have a phone consult with DAN! we let him know what we’vebeen doing and he’s always in good spirits and positive about it.

y son is recovered, and I never took him to any doctor. I dideverything based on information I learned from other parents on listslike this one.
If you want to use a doctor, that is okay, but don’t discount thebenefit of the experiences of other parents.

mB12 feeds yeast, so start your yeast protocol first.
