No phenol vs. phenol assist
Has anyone used phenol Assist, not seen much of a difference, then switchedto No Phenol and seen improvement? (not a well-worded question, buthopefully you get the picture). I am very curious about specific indicatorsthat the No Phenol was working. Thanks for any help you might have.

While I have not used the Phenol Assist, I can attest to the NoPhenol. With my 2 year old son he was unable to tolerate most fruitsand vegetables, as well as items like tomatoes, sauce, and potato. Ithink potato made him feel so horrible that even now he will nottouch it, in any form. I had to take all of the fruits and vege’sout of his diet. The reason I know it’s working for him is becauseof the mandarin oranges. Before the removal, when he would eat theoranges (and he LOVES them) the orange peices would be in his BM.Now since I put him on the No Phenol, he eats the oranges and he nowdigests them properly and have not seen them in his stool, oranything else for that matter. It’s great because I can add all thefruits and vegetables back in his diet, except potato cuz he won’ttouch it. Also, he used to rub his tummy after eating what I suspectwere some of the foods that bothered him, he has not done this sincethe use of No Phenol and re-introduction of the foods. Incidentally, they told me to give him a 1/4 tsp every day. I felt this was toomuch for him so I give it to him every other day, unless he is goingto have a lot of, or a combination of the “problem” foods.

I haven’t used Phenol Assist but when we started with NoPhenol therewas not a specific indicator that it was working, just a lessening ofhis “yeasty” type behavior which I suspect is due to phenols. Guess weare headed for Feingold!

I have never used Phenol Assist, but No-Fenol was WONDERFUL for my sonwhen he had phenol intolerance issues. And I still use it for myself,I cannot eat anything without it.
