Intramuscular mb12 for acute stage of illness

As per Dr. Neubrander’s protocol for acute illness, he has instructed us to giveEvan his MB12 intramuscularly for 2-3 days in a row, instead of the normalprotocol of giving the shot subcutaneously every 3 nights. Evan developed afever today, so I am quite certain that I’m supposed to give the shotintramuscularly tonight (Dr. N’s Physician Assistant whom we see told me to giveit that way in the event of a fever). Has anyone ever given an MB12 shot thisway? Is there any particular technique that I need to use (eg: which part ofthe buttock? should the shot go in a a 90 degree angle or something less thanthat?). Since I had never given a shot to my son prior to starting MB12 withEvan, I’m just not sure. When Evan was an infant, I did have to give myselfsubcutaneous blood thinner shots in my belly…but, of course, that was adifferent situation.

Any advice would be most appreciated! Thanks:-)

We started the protocol with Dr N this summer. If your son isfairly young then I doubt you will have any difficulty getting theshot in the muscle (just want to avoid the sciatic nerve). To besure you avoid the nerve, the upper outer quandrant of the buttockis recommended. Just give the shot at a 90 degree angle in thatarea.

BTW, since you are obviously one of Dr. N’s patients, can you tell meif you’ve found any efficient way of documenting behaviors, etc. inpreparation for each cycle’s paperwork? We just finished our firstcycle, and it was extremely tedious having to look back and forththrough my nightly journals trying to find out when certain thingsstarted, how it coincided with MB12 shots, etc. My son is onlyconsidered a very mild responder so far, so if I don’t documentthings pretty specifically, I may not see much of a difference. Ithink that somebody on the enzymes group suggested a “tick sheet”showing a month at a glance (behaviors, medications, MB12 nights, illness, etc), with a little space included for comments. I wasthinking of something along those lines…but I think I need somethingeven a little more than that. The person from the enzymes group wasnot a patient of Dr. N.

I am actually working on my Dr N report today to get it ready for aWed. phone consult. I agree that it is tedious to go through thejournal but I don’t think I could get enough detail on a month at aglance spread sheet. The report requires so much detail that I fearI would not remember enough without my narrative from my journal.Maybe with a week at a glance, but I don’t have anything preparedfor that. I should try though because it would be great to makethis process easier.
