Juice alternative help!
MY son has yeast issues and I am stuggling to figure out something hewill drink that has no sugar and tastes good. I have tried a coupleteas but my son will NOT drink them. Any!! Suggestions will be super!!
Breadmachine
Do you use the same breadmachine now as you did whenyou made “normal” bread? What about cookware & utensils?
Should I just plan on only using them for GFCF cooking from now on orbuy brand new ones that have never had those ingredients in them tocontaiminate.
Ice cream
Has anyone tried to make homemade ice cream with Darifree or othernon-milk alternative? Summer is here and I am bound and determined tomake some for my son. He loves vanilla and will not even touch anyother gfcf flavor on the market. Another one is making cones, hasanyone tried this?? I am going to try this, so I’ll keep everyoneposted on my flops and successes.
More urination, nightime wetting-enzymes
Does anyone else notice their child urinating alot more and having nightimeaccidents with enzymes. Everytime I start them, or a new one, my son peesconstantly, and has night accidents. Last night, i thought the hoover damnexploded in his room
Eliminating soy
I am trying to eliminate soy from my son’s GFCF diet. This is proving verydifficult as most of the GFCF foods have soy in them. I know it is criticalto eliminate very speck of gluten and casein, I wondered how important is itto eliminate even a minute amount of food that he is sensitive to, like soy.For example, some food have soy lethicin listed, but it appears to be asmall amount. How critical would it be to eliminate a food like that? Italso seems that most GFCF chips may have soybean oil in them. What aboutthat?
Dmsa transdermal cream
Going to start DMSA transdermal cream ordered by my DAN doctor fromCoastal Pharmacy. Its been in the fridge for two weeks. I am stilltrying to find the pros and cons, before I start.
My son is 3.3 yrs non verbal, he is on lot of supplements, gfcfdiet, aba, OT for a year. Doctor told me to use “DMSA transdermal apply three times daily every OTHER Friday, Saturday, Sunday.”
Concerns:
1. We did not do any metal test, My DAN doctor said, sincetests are not going to show anything, don’t waste money on any ofthe tests? But I ordered the White Plains hair test kit, just formy satisfaction. Any suggesion?
2. Three months ago, when we did the Yeast test, he was high onyeast, we have been doing the same diet (rotation diet), samesupplements, poop got better and better to where it was perfect, butlast two weeks, it starts getting really soft, and very bad odor.Looks like we may have yeast issue again. I heard kirkman has ayeast control enzyme something called Candice if I remember right? If I start DMSA now, should I watch out for anything in particular?
3. His behavior has changed in the last 4 weeks a lot (a mix ofbetter and worst). He has been a very happy child to the most part, but lately he started crying , the crying is not just crying it’slike he is in pain or something. If we had started chelation, Iwould have thought it was the chelation caused this? I mean everybody including the doctor would have said the same thing. It wasthe DMSA, right? That really puzzles me? We would not really knowwhat is causing the out of the blue, odd behaviors?
4. Sometimes, we are out of some of the supplements for a weekor two weeks , during that time, I don’t see any big negative orpositive reactions, does it mean he does not need those supplements?
5. Supplements he has been on the following supplements rightnow: Brain child vitamin Brain child mineral Calcium Cord Liver Oil Acidophilus powder Zinc Cultureule Pro bio gold Vitamin C DMG HN-Zyme Enzyme AFP- Peptizyde No-Fenol Gluathione cream twice a day b12 shots twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday)
I am thinking of adding the following : Milk Thistle Coromega Flaxseed B6 Magnesium (My Dan doctor feels no need foradditional magnesium since he is getting it from Brain Childminerals) L-Carnosine’L-Glutamine Transfactor from 4life
I will start one at a time, but it is normal for these kidsto have 20 vitamins a day right?
6. His diet has no sugar (we use Agave Nectar natural sweetneron pan cakes) no honey, only fruit he eats is pear, and only juiceis pear jucice. no candies. we tried other fruits sometimes with nophenol enzymes, we did not see any big change?
7. Again, mainly 3 times a day on Friday, Saturday and Sundayon alternative weeks, transdermal DMSA, any suggestion? How to control Yeast during chelation? Is there any supplement I should add or watch out for?
What shampoo does your gfcf child use?
I’m looking for a GFCF shampoo, preferably without artificial colors orfragrance.
Side effect of nut butter balls
I little while back, I decided to try making the nut butter ballssince my son always seems to want high protein foods and I wanted himto put some weight on. I used them to add rice protein powder andsome of his supplements. He loved them and I was excited to givethem to him. I assumed he loved them as much as he did because theymade him feel good (satisfaction of feeling full & nutrients). Before I knew it though, he wanted to eat them only which to me is ared flag. I decided to only make them twice a month instead of everyweek out of concern he would become allergic to peanut butter. Allof a sudden, my son who only drank water became intested in applejuice. I thought it was great he wanted to drink something new andused that to put his supplements in. Since he has never had a realproblem with phenols, I wasn’t too worried but I still gave him ZymePrime just in case. Before I knew it, he began refusing water. Nomore apple juice! Saturday night we had In and Out burgers and friesand I caught him scooping a spoonful of ketchup in his mouth. He hasbecome a phenol kid! It started with the peanut butter and when Istopped that, he just kept finding a new high-phenol food to eat.
Over the last couple months my son has been hard to handle. All daylong he goes from one thing to the next getting himself intotrouble. He has been climbing furniture, chewing through electricalcords, putting his fingers through the fan, damaging anything he canget his hands on and getting agressive with his younger siblings. IfI ever put my 10 month old on the floor, he runs over and wants tostep on his head. It has gotten to the point where I have beenwondering how long it will be until we have to institutionalize himfor fear of him hurting our 4 other kids. I wondered if thisbehavior had anything to do with phenols?
I had a bottle of No-Phenol I had gotten since I heard it can helpwith yeast issues but hadn’t opened it up. Yesterday morning I gavehim diluted apple juice but put 1/2 capsule of No-Phenol in. Myhusband was at church with my older two kids for 5 hours which is arecipe for disaster since he knows I am outnumbered (3 little ones athome with no help). It was the most peaceful morning I haveexperienced in years. I kept going into my son’s room to check onhim since he was so quiet (silence usually equals disaster). Eachtime he was happily playing with toys. I can’t believe the immediatedifference. It’s amazing how problems like this creap up slowly towhere you don’t notice it.
Hydrolized vegetable protein–what is it?–dangerous?
Can someone please enlighten me on this?
