Gfcf and breastfeeding

I’m brand new to the list. I have 2 daughters…the oldest, Erin, just turned 2and was diagnosed with at 22 months. She’s doing well with speech, OTand lots of ABA. My husband and I recently became concerned that our 9.5 monthold Siobhan is starting to show some signs also. We have decided to put bothgirls on the diet.

I am still nursing Siobhan and will keep nursing her as long as I can. Do Ineed to go GFCF also? How strict do I need to be? I would appreciate anyadvice and suggestions on how to manage this and still get the nutrients I need.

You must be GFCF for your baby to be GFCF. 100%. Iwould also avoid soy since researchers have decidedthat it may have the same effects on our children asgluten and casein.

Congratulations for getting your daughter diagnosed so early. Definitelyput them both on the diet and go GF/CF yourself. I did the diet myself for 8months while nursing my now 1 year old daughter. She’s doing great and isactually ahead developmentally. While nursing I also took Flax Seed Oil,Multivitamin, and Cod Liver Oil. Since they’re so young I’d definitely lookinto chelation (mercury removal). If you need more info. on this, let me know.
