Make spaghettii sauce with them -also cut or dice them up into omlettes-also make a dough around them.

I just checked the packages of Applegate hot dogs I just purchased.It does say “lactic acid starter culture - not from dairy.”
I will call the company tomorrow to double check on this but theystill look like they are gf/cf.

It’s most likely lactic acid bacteria which has been used forthouseands of years as a natural preservative.
