My kids are not great adventurers when it comes to food. They go in stagesbut then take the same things every day for months. Now they takesandwiches with margarine, jelly or peanut butter, potato chip (UTZ brand),a fruit, water and sometimes a treat. Other things they’ve eaten arehotdogs (they don’t like buns so I just cook the dog and wrap it a fewtimes in foil to stay warm), noodles with margarine, carrots and ranchdressing, french toast sticks and syrup. Not very exciting stuff! We makea bread that the whole family loves. It got it from another list(GFCFrecipes) and my girls love it. I think the official name is Tom’sCeliac light bread and it’s in the files section of that list. It usesgarbanzo bean flour so the bread has protein in it. Protein is a problemfor us so I really like this bread. Also, Dana’s website gave me ideaswhen we first started the diet. It’s very helpful.

Melissa–What protein choices do your kids like, and can they tolerate? Haveyou tried nut butters (the macadamia butter is awesome!), or hummus? My kidslove hummus, and use Tostitos Rounds to spread it on, or veggies to dip in it.Refried beans/bean dip is also tasty and kid friendly, with tortilla chips todip in it. Would they like cut up hot dogs, or “baby” hot dogs dipped inketchup?

My daughter pretty much likes the same thing every day:
Ham or Turkey (inquire at the deli for those safe brands) corn chips or rice cake or popcorn jello cup gf/cf Soy Pudding (chocolate, vanilla or banana) slice of Vegan Soy Cheese sometimes a Midel cookie
As far as bread, the only two breads that my daughter will eat are Ener-Gbrand yeast free sweet bread and Kinnikinnik Italian White gf/cf bread.

Be very careful, as not all MiDel cookies are gfcf. Some are one, some theother, and if I recall correctly, there might even be some that are neither.

My daughter is in a small ABA classroom and the other children all gethot lunch from school. The teacher has beeen sending home the lunchmenu for the month and I attempt (and I am not a cook!) to makesomething similiar to what the other children are eating (not that mychild really notices that, she would be happy with having just chipsand pb&j).
Some of the menu items are: cheese pizza, burrito, hot dog, yogurt andsoft pretzel, grilled chicken with roll, pasta with meat sauce, chicken nuggets, nachos, hamburger, and of course fruits and veggies.
I found out the teacher (or aide) was willing to warm up any food Isent, so maybe that would be an option for you too?
As far as bread goes, my daughter will only eat Ener-g’s light whiterice bread. If it is just the regular white rice bread, it is a no go!
