Curious about diet

I am somewhat new to this topic and want to learn more. My son is 41/2 and has high functioning autism. He is a VERY PICKY eater andeats a lot of carbs. Loves Ritz Bits/crackers which have a lot ofpreservatives….so do the chicken nuggets. The fruit he eats ispureed. LOVES milk and yogurt, but will drink juice if offered achoice between the two sometimes. We’re working on sensory issuesright now with his teacher so that part is being covered.

What I am confused about is this…how do I know if this diet is rightfor my son? Does he have to exhibit any certain behaviors that thegluten/casein could cause? Etc. etc. etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated in trying to figure all thisout. His teacher mentioned it and I need to look into it. Thanks.Steelergirl

You can know if your kid is gluten or casein intolerant by sending a urinesample to thewhites plaines lab on kansas either way , you will see better improvement onyour childscomunication skills, you wont be sorry.

The urine test is for peptides (incomplete breakdown of proteins), and Ibelieve the name of the lab is Great Plains (www.gpl4u.com). If you have a BlueCross Blue Shield PPO with a suitcase on the card they are a participatingprovider so most of their tests are covered (there are special procedures forsubmitting, so call them or look on their website), but this one (urinarypeptides) is considered too experimental to bill to any insurance.

    Hope this helps.
