Almond
My daughter has been scd (while still on GFCF) for about a month andI’m about to introduce pecans.
Does anyone know a souce of pecan/pecan flour that is gfcf and free ofother cross contamination? I hope to find a source where I could get asmall amount.
I have checked whole foods and Costco and the nuts there bears a labelthat warns of possible contamination from wheat and milk.
Good places for recipes
Can all you experts out there give a new mom some advice?Where is a good place to find SIMPLE recipes that are easy to make anddon’t require a kitchen stocked with millions of products? My son canhave everything else, egg, soy, etc. He eats meat but I’m running outof things to do with meat and having trouble finding sauces, etc to mixwith chicken, hamburger, etc.
I go to whole foods, but find the place completely overwhelming.
Is there help for me and my son???

Peanuts and yeast dana?
I read a post here not too long ago that talked about peanuts andpeanut butter feeding yeast. I thought I asked the person to explainthat a bit (but I wouldn’t bet any money on that–my mind is shottoday) but I didn’t catch the response.
I haven’t been able to find any connection between the two and itstrikes me as very odd that something high protein, high fat couldfeed yeast. Can anyone clarify this for me?
Potatoes
There’s a great recipe we learned at a vegan restaurant on Kauai (take a bow,Hanapepe Cafe). You get a little red or green pepper, fresh rosemary, andcut your potatoes up into little bitty cubes. Use olive oil and fry up. Atthe very end splash a little bit of the amino acid that is a lot like soysauce, but GF/CF. It is divine! As a matter of fact, my husband is makingsome tonight. Makes french fries want to bow their little heads in shame.!
Gfcf vs adhd diet
Hi there. I have a question for you out there who have kids with Autism as wellas ADHD (maybe that is everyone, not sure). My 7 year old son, who was put onthe GFCF diet about 6 months ago for his Aspergers, also has ADHD. While on theGFCF diet his skin has become the right color, hie circle under his eyes havegone away and he has become a bit less “foggy”. However, his ADHD issues, whichreally interfere with school and focus have become worse. Much worse, so muchthat the doctors want to increase his meds, which I am trying to get him off of.
I know this diet is awesome. It has done so much for so many deservingfamilies who have been able to get some parts of their kids back! But I amwondering if I am going about it wrong. A nutritionis we just saw told me thatkids with ADHD need whole grains, no sugar, no additives……and so on. My sondoes not eat additives, sugar (well as little as possible), preservatives, nocaesin, but obviously with the GF diet there are no whole grains. I am veryconfused as to what “part” of my son’s disorder I should be treating. I cant doboth, and I dont want to put him in a coma on pharm meds.
Has anyone out there run into the same problem? I will never re-introduce theCF portion to him, but I am worried that I might really screw up his system if Igo GF, but this doesnt seem to be working right for him. He uses BrainchildNutritional vitamins and minerals which I will never stop because they were aGodsend. Also enzymes and probiotics, cal/mag, etc.
Any suggestions??? Im I missing something that is staring me in the face thatI am not thinking of??
Thanks so much - Susan

What else do we need to sneak into diet?
We are one month CF and 6 days GFCF—there is no turning back now. Thanks to your wonderful suggestions, my son is now eating thefollowing:
Bob’s pancakes, but I added flaxseed meal, rice protein and squashwithout him rejecting them, I guess the syrup helps.
Gerber baby fruit—only way to get vitamins/supplements in right now
1 banana a day
Gerber rice cereal w/applesauce–again to get in vitamins
Idahoan mashed potatoes, but I added rice protein and some Gerbermixed veggies to see if he would accept and it was fine.
Junk snacks and crackers, like Enjoy Life bars, Fritos, Lays, EnerGcrackers
16 ounces of almond milk and lots of water
THESE ARE THE ONLY ACCEPTED FOOD ITEMS AT THIS TIME.
With that in mind—-what is he missing, nutrition wise, that I needto sneak in somewhere? I guess the protein is okay for now with theadded rice protein???—I’m just don’t know what else he really needsto be healthy during this transition.
I keep trying—but this is what he will eat right now. He’s freakingout—-but I already see AMAZING things so I know he needs this.
Also, he is taking Spectrum Complete, Kirkman’s liquid zinc, KirmansCal/Mag liquid, Nordic Naturals CLO, and extra Vit. C. He’s 22 monthsold.
Orgran products
Has anyone tried any products from Orgran? I have heard their breadmix and fruit bars are good. Can anyone confirm this?
Is this yeast die - off or something else?
My son has been gradually getting more and more stimmy since the lastalmost a month or so. I’m not sure if it’s related to too much yeast(we let him have lots of GFCF candy over Halloween, oops!) overgrowth,or to the new anti-yeast protocol we’re on.
We’re on a slew of supplements, but no radical changes there withinthe last few months. I noticed him getting slightly more stimmyaround mid-late October, just as we were getting ready to start ourfour-stge anti-yeast diet using “Feast without Yeast.” About 10 daysago we started Nystatin at just 1 tsp/day for the first week, then 2tsp/day for this week, working up to 4 tsp/day by December 1. Justthis week he’s soooooo stimmy and distracted, giggly and practicallybouncing into walls, I don’t know how I can increase his Nystatin tillI know what’s causing this.
I’ve heard these symptoms are often caused by yeast overgrowth (whichI know he has and the sugar couldn’t have helped), but it’s odd thatit got so much worse after starting Nystatin. He’s been GFCF sinceApril and that had really helped a lot till all this started up inOctober. He’s on stage 3 of the anti-yeast diet now, but that doesn’tseem to making much difference. ANy help appreciated.
