Information
My kids are twins, my girl is not asd just my son. I beleive I read thatboys are 4 to 1 more likely then girls to be ASD because of testosterone.Although I did not think that young boys had much testosterone.

Our family paed who has been seeing our twins regularly for the first 4 years ever since they are born were then constantly checking with us if our twins have any developmental issue or missed any developmental milestones (like crawling, sitting, standing up) - in the first 14 months, we were so glad that they met them & in terms of physical growth (weight & height), both twins were on the higher side of the normal range (for Asians) - alas, in the 15th month, we sensed the boy is “different”.
The paed (she does not believe in biomed for treating autism) has been in practice for 28 years & she said chances of developmental issues with twins are much higher than single births - most likely due to insufficient nutrition/nourishment to the multiple babies during gestation.
Well, she must have seen quite a number of cases during her 28 years’ of practice & that’s why I asked because if my son’s case is due to nutritional issue during gestation, then perhaps I have to try something else to help him or perhaps there’s really not much I can do?? When I first reported to her my boy was laughing wildly (& sometimes have night terror) during his sleep, she told me he’ll outgrew it when his nervous system matures. He did outgrew it at about 33 months old without any intervention.
Sigh, it looks like it took forever for him to outgrew his speech, auditory skills (understanding of words) & cognition - despite all the training (OT, ST, brushing, PECS, TEACCH) & biomed.

Hi, I have twins too, they are 11yrs old. It is their younger brother who isASD although our daughter (one of the twins) was just diagnosed with ADHD(mild)this past summer. Feingold and addressing Lactose intolerance are helping hertremendously. We use gf/cf and partial Feingold for our younger son Connor.
