Salicylate free and gfcf recipes
The whole family is on a GFCF diet and we stay away from just aboutall salicylates. The problem is once I eliminated the salicylates mykids are on a hunger strike and always cranky. This is what they arecurrently living on (just about everything is organic):Breakfast: Eggs w/rice bread and pear or banannaor GFCF pancakesSnack: Potatoe Crispsor pearLunch: Cashew butter with rice bread and pear or turkey dogsDinner: Protein-Hamburger,GFCF Chicken nuggetts,Rice Noodles,LentilVegetable - brocolli or carrotts
Beverages Rice/Soy milk and water
As you can see there isn’t much of a variety and the food is veryboring. Can anyone share some tried and true recipes that their kidslove but are still Salicylate freeh and GFCF.

Hi, Why have you eliminated ALL salicylates? Is it because of hyperactivity? If this is the reason, you may find that the bananas are your cause of cranky. My son can not tolerate the really high salicylates or bananas (amines). He isok with many other fruits. I haven’t read the list for a while, where aremelons on the list? My son can eat melons until they come out his ears! andhave no problems. We make smoothies with frozen melon, pears and peaches, alittle honey and a little milk replacer. Hope this helps some.

I hope that if you have eliminated so many foods, you have looked at sitessuch as Dana’s, the Feingold Association, GFCFdiet, and others, to get an ideaof other foods you CAN use. Also to get an idea if you have eliminated TOOmuch! You may be able to safely reintroduce foods, if you do it carefully andknowwhat to look for, as far as reactions go.
