Trial end of diet

Which of his antibodies to wheat were elevated? If I’m not mistaken, whenthey’re looking for celiac disease they do both IgA and IgG to wheat. If it isboth, I’m not sure if they can say for sure that he doesn’t have celiac, evenwith the other test being ok, but I’m not sure. If he has only elevated IgG,they will probably tell you it’s meaningless. As far as celiac disease, maybe itis, but not as far as other things. Our daughter had high IgG to wheat when theywere looking for celiac disease and they told us that was meaningless. Someoneelse said it could be one of 20 things. I wish now I’d said, “Ok, let’s startworking through the list. What’s #1?” When we did a full IgG panel a few yearslater, the only things she had even a moderate score on were wheat, spelt(ancient wheat), gliaden (another wheat protein) and gluten. Once we took heroff wheat and other gluten-containing foods, we were also able to take her offher prescription laxative that the same doctor who’d told us we absolutely shouldn’t take her off wheat (we’d already taken her off milkwith very good results) had put her on. Eating a lot of food and still losingweight and also being constipated sounds like the food isn’t beingmetabolized/digested properly, possibly due to enzyme deficiencies or otherintolerance issues. It sounds like, even if your son doesn’t have celiacdisease, either digestive enzymes aimed at wheat or a wheat-free diet areimportant to him.

Just be aware that if the test results come back negative, that doesnot mean the diet will not benefit your child. Leaky gut and celiacare two separate conditions. A child can have one or the other orboth. If he has leaky gut only, it is very possible that you could doenzymes instead of diet and that he would not have to be GF for life.If he has celiac, enzymes will not prevent damage and he will need tobe GF for life. If he has both, enzymes will help the behavioralprotion of an infraction but will not help the physical. I have oneNT son with celiac disease and an autistic son with both celiac andleaky gut.
