About three weeks ago I gave Sam (28 months old, 26 lbs) GSE (6 drops 3Xday) for6 days for yeast. Wow, what a difference in his behavior. Babbling in morecomplex sounds, many animal sounds when prompted, counting, signing, clapping,happy, sleeping, and most importantly NO high pitched screaming - none for thefirst time in 18 months!!

After the 6 days on GSE, I started 1/2 capsule of Peptizyde 3Xday with mealsand 1/2 capsule of Florajen probiotic 2Xday. He had a lot of rumbling noise inhis stomach, frequent, high volume loose stools, and reduced appetite and abarking type cough but no congestion or other signs of a cold. I stayed withthis for about 7 days with no signs of improvement with time.

So this week (for the past 5 days) I discontinued the Florajen and stayed withthe Peptizyde 1/2 cap 3Xday. His stools are better but he is irritable, putshis hands over his ears, flicks his right ear, refuses to nap in his bed (in thepast, he has always liked his bed and been happy about going down for naps). Hestill has decreased appetite and some rumbling in his stomach (less than before)and he still has this cough. But most disheartening, he’s back to high-pitchedSCREAMING when he is upset, interrupted or has to transition to anotheractivity. Interestingly, along with the bad behavior, he’s continued theimprovements he gained while on GSE. What I mean is he shows no regression inlanguage, etc.

Can anyone help explain what’s going on and what should be my next step? He’salso GFCF, on Brainchild Spectrum Support II and CLO.

Are these approved? I’m just starting the diet and needing some ideasfor lunch box

What are some reactions that a child may have if they have anintolerance to Probiotics?

I just went to the chocolat emporium website Halloween ingredients list andfirst thing with the ingredients was chocolate novelties may contain traceamounts of dairy and that does not compromise the pareve status. I thought thatpareve was no dairy or dairy derivatives. Can some one who knows more aboutthis help me out. They did have candy corn that looked ok but now I am afraidto get it!

I started giving my daughter Gaba-750 3x/day since Tuesday forattention/hyperactivity. We are having positive results with thissupplement. I just wanted to see if anyone has used it and can you givemore than 3x/day. She is 74 lbs.

Just a question, been on the diet a couple of months and my sons BM’sare just awful now — hasn’t had a solid one since we started… and heseems to be losing weight which doesn’t seem normal for a 4 yr old. AmI doing something wrong?

I was gonapost at ANDI-ADI but I’ll start here first. My little one, Christian(who has recently taken a backslide but overall has made REMARKABLEprogress) has been GFCF for, wow it’ll be 4 years in February. We’regoing to do the IgG panel next month, but we have already decided toremove soy and most nuts, per the doc. I rotated soy out once, but Iknoooooooow I didn’t do it right, looking back. I have already seenimprovments this weekend by removing them. I left pecans in for now,for 90% removed soy, and when I did let him cheat I gave him Enzymaid.

Soooo… I posted on my local list in Pittsburgh about some products Ineed help in finding as SF (and maybe NF). Can you guys answer thesefor me? I’ll probably post agin soon with more questions, LOL…

Nuggets - are Ian’s nuggets and Fish Sticks SF too? I was pretty surethey were but just checking.

Are Bush’s Baked Beans SF? I hope so - it’s a big favorite of C’s!

How about Manwich sauce? He loves sloppy joes on GFCF buns! (He lovedGillian’s brand but those are not SF… back to EnerG for us!).

Thanks a million, guys. I hope everyone has as much success with GFCFand natural interventions as we have. We indeed have our backslides androtten days, but overall, my son is doing incredible! One day when Ihave more time I’ll share more of our story.

my son had a chicken nugget from McDonald’s on Tuesday at11:00. He had a small crying spurt Tuesday night near bedtime (buthad fallen off a chair a few minutes before… cried right away,calmed, then cried again for a few minutes). Other than that, wenoticed no change. He had his best ABA session ever yesterday(Wednesday), according to his therapist. Then today, he had a veryunusual meltdown at 10:00 this morning about Barnyard Bingo (when histherapist put it away, he went nuts). Hard to redirect, which isn’tlike him. He was also incredibly distraught when they came in fromtheir walk and he discovered he had green marker on his hand. Hescreamed at the top of his lungs, shrieking repeatedly, with tears.

The only other thing that’s been different is I changed from Welch’sand Safeway white grape juice to Archer Farms brand from Target. Theingredients look exactly the same, but the Archer Farms brand is muchdarker in color. Coincidentally (or not), when he began an awfulbedtime screaming behavior for over a week and screaming when we’dleave the car, I’d also been using that juice. I stopped the juice,started melatonin, addressed the behaviors through therapy, and he gotbetter. Now the juice again (started it three days ago), and now he’sincredibly fragile and irritable again. Would it possibly take threedays to see the effects of the juice, if that’s what’s causing this?

What’s the best way to test the juice, take it away, see if he getsbetter, then try it again? Or keep giving it, see if he gets better,then I’ll know it’s not the juice? And how do I tell with the gluteninfraction? Can it take nearly 48 hours to see the effects of thatsmall amount of gluten?

Does anyone have a list that i can buy from the store of gfcf soy free any kindof candy, lollipops, treats, or chocolate. chips etc would be appreciated too
