Quit diet
I am at wits end!! I don’t see a DAN dr. until Feb and I am having thehardest time with this diet. My daughter refused to eat anything butpotatoes. She would eat some applesauce if I sat there and fed her.Her face and butt were so rashed (her butt was bleeding from thesores). So, I gave her some of her old favorites (Eggo waffles, campbells soup, etc)…After a little hestitation, she ate all of it.We had been on the diet for 12 weeks and I didn’t see any change in herbehavior when we removed gluten. We did see a change with casein.Anyway, I have stopped giving her potatoes and she seems to be doingmuch better. Less stimming, more focused and vocal, and no moredilated pupils.I know I have seen this asked before, but do some kids do better whenoff the diet? Or is it b/c she doesn’t have much in her system?Anyone seen a change when they took away potatoes? We are going to get all the allergy testing done in Feb, but I don’twant to mess up everything we have done…Thanks everyone!

What enzymes are you doing? I have them all, but haven’t started them… I am in the same boat. She won’t eat meat and hasn’t “opened” up to new foodat all…Over the last 12 weeks, we have gone through 3 hunger strikes…She hasgone from 30 to 26 lbs 2X…She is only 2.4 months.

Potatoes can be huge yeast feeders for yeast-prone kids. For somewho have bad experiences with GFCF, it is not the absence of glutenor casein, but what you replace it with that causes the problems.
How are the poops?

They are light brown and like playdough- With pieces of potato in it (sheinhaled and didn’t chew them very well)… What is a good “natural” yeast fighter? The GSE didn’t work.

Forgot to add: apples, apple juice and applesauce would give my sonsuch caustic diarrhea that is bloodied his rear-end like youdescribe. He seems better now at age 4 yrs, but I use appleproducts sparingly.

Giving my son anything orange would have caused this. For your child,it might be the potatoes.
My son improved noticeably when I added back wheat with HNI enzymesand removed rice and corn. You might try enzymes, see if you noticeimprovement

My son did not tolerate potatoes except with Zyme Prime enzyme.
