Spinach is a vegetable - not a grain - and therefore is both GF and CF. It’snot only nutritious, but also will help keep your child regular.

Spinach is GFCF, but spinach has the same subclass of morphine likepeptides as wheat, i.e. gluten.
Yes, spinach and wheat glutens do improve memory and performance inmice when given in low doses. This is to be expected. I am sorry ifthis is too technical but here goes:
Wheat or gluten peptides stimulates the delta opioid receptor.Scientists have genetically engineered mice that lack this receptor, and these mice have been found to be both physically and mentallyslow, so stimulation of this receptor is important for the learningprocess. The key though is that receptor should be stimulated not bymorphine like peptides found in the enviornment but by the body’sown endorphins.
Excessive use of morpine or morphine like peptides damages the bodyand central nervous system over time, while endorphins protect thebody’s nervous system. You can increase your body’s own naturalendorphins by listening to music, getting sunlight or UV light, exercising, taking melatonin, eating spicy foods or chocolate.Autistics have been shown to have low endorphin levels.
The bottom line is that there is no point in restricting wheat ifyou are going to give spinach. They both have morphine like peptideswith similar properties.
