Low in zinc
My daughter is consistently low in zinc even though we supplement atweight +20. Has anyone out there had this problem and been able toremedy it by switching to a different brand?. My daughter was takingKirkman zinc capsules and we recently added in kirkman liquid zinc buthaven’t tested after that addition. Any info would be great.

Hi we tried several brands and switched many times but we’ve alwayshad the same results. None worked better than the other for my son. Wejust stopped changing recently and added 20mg more. The past 2 nightmy son has been grinding his teeth really badly in his sleep and thatis a huge size of zinc defeciency. I’m going to add 20mg more totoday’s dose and see if he’ll stop over the next few nights. Sorry Icouldn’t be of anymore help. 20mg more seems to be the magic # for us.Usually about a week or 2 on 20mg more he’s fine. Sometimes that means20mg’s more twice so it’s actually 40mg’s more.

The liquid form has the ability to be absorb easy, andalso can run trough the cellular wall (little spacebetween each cell) therefore should be better thancapsules, and it should also help raise the levels ofzinc quickly.

it’s the RBC minerals test. My DAN doc likes it done beforewe start chelating to make sure her mineral levels are appropriate.We’ve tested 2x and both came back as low in zinc - even after weupped the dose after the first test. Just started the liquid zincafter the 2nd test.

So it means the zinc is not staying in the blood, but actually beingabsorbed and utilized. Not a bad thing. You might try a hair test,see if today’s test is better than the previous one, or if the childis excreting the zinc rather than absorbing it.
