Amoxicillin question
My 2 year old has just been prescribed Amoxicillin for an ear infection. I’mfairly new to this so I’m wondering if there is anything I can do to help withwhat this is going to do to his gut? Should I give more probiotics - he isalready getting 1/4 t. a day of Ultra Flora DF?
Also, is it safe to still do his supplements with this antibiotic? Just my luckthat we are just starting his protocal and I’m gradually adding things. I guessI should stop that for now too?

Dr. Lewis has us on an antibiotic (gut overgrowth) and wants us to increaseprobiotics. He used to take 1/2 cap of Ultra Flora DF and now we’re takinga full capsule of the BioKult. That’s the one with 10 different strains ofgood bugs versus Ultra Flora’s 2 strains.
He also told us to keep up with the supplements. He recommends getting theshot versus the oral Amoxicillan (I know! I know!) so keep that in mind anddo your research.

If you haven’t started the amoxicillin yet, maybe you would considerusing something like mullein/garlic oil ear drops first. They workon my NT daughter overnight. They are available at most HFS. Onantibiotics, her eardrum sometimes burst from the pus. Her healthwas poor from so many antibiotics. This was back when I was still acomplete idiot, not just a partial one :-).
If you have started the antibiotics, you need to finish. It is hardto give too many probiotics. Remember, the antibiotics will stillbe in his system after you’ve finished the prescription. You mustcontinue the probiotics at a higher level for some time. Too manyprobiotics will usually give diarrhea. That is when you would knowto cut back.
