I remember reading the question about Chick Filet fries beingGF/CF but I don’t recall the answer. Can someone shed light on this?I called Chick Filet and they gave me the ingredients - I wasn’t clearon the chemicals and I just wanted to ask “the source”. Thanks so much!
Cake frostings
What brands of cake frostings that can be purchased at a regular storeare GFCF? What flavors???
So, what’sfor dinner tonight?
I’m stumped. Doesn’t help that I don’t want to make anything, but itgets harder when you have restrictions. What are you making?
Citrus free beverage
Does anyone know of a citrus free beverage besides water and the dairyfree milk products? Since I took my son off dairy he has been beendrinking lemonade and orange juice. Now the Dr. says citrus has to go.
Gluten free beer
Warnings on the bottles contain the caution for pregnant women, and the warning that too much alcohol could impair your ability. But what about those who can’t tolerate gluten?
For Americans who suffer from celiac disease a sensitivity to the gluten contained in wheat, rye and barley can have painful results.
The body sees the gluten as an enemy. That’s why nutrients can’t be absorbed, and sufferer gets symptoms like cramps and fatigue.
However beer manufacturers have made gluten-free beer that received high responses also from non-celiac sufferers.

Good places for recipes??/menu planning
I was unorganized in the kitchen for YEARS, wasting tons and tons offood. Drove my poor husband NUTS. Then two summers ago (before our own GFCFdays–we were starting Feingold then), I offered to watch a friend’s daughterfora couple of weeks while her mom went to help out her sister after a caraccident. This child had Down’s and autism, and was GFCF and soy free.Soooo….outof necessity, I sat down with a menu planning form (which I had here but hadnever attempted to use) and began to really think about meals.
I was not about to worry over who ate what, so everyone got the same mealsand snacks. I started with meats, and filled in a main meat item for about 4-5days a week (the other days were “potluck”). Then I figured out what vegetableswould go nicely with that particular meat. Then I planned a simple dessert(homemade ice pops, Rice Dream, fruit salad with a topping, smoothies,store-bought GFCFSF cookies, etc.). Then I wrote out a list of acceptable snackitems,so I wouldn’t have to think about it when the kids started “browsing” formunchies.
I kept it VERY simple and plain–no one here is a gourmet! I used SpecialDiets for Special Kids for some of my meal ideas, and the Feingold cookbook(copyrighted) for others (which I had to adapt for GFCF, at times). To beabsolutely honest, once I’d done this–and stuck to it–for a couple of weeks, Iwaskicking myself for not doing it sooner! It wasn’t NEARLY the hassle I thought itwould be, and it really did cut down on my grocery budget! My husband wasTHRILLED, I felt organized, and we ate really well PLUS stuck to everyone’sdietary needs! Can’t do better than that!

Gluten free breakfast sausages
I’m trying to find some new breakfast ideas for my kids. They’ve really burnt out on Shelton’s and applegate farms sausages. We’ve even done Applegate Farms Hot Dogs for breakfast and my son isnow complaining. Cereals are almost impossible as most of the cerealshave a chance of peanut contamination. We do pancakes, muffins & corngrits occasionally but I try to rotate the grains and need morevariety.Has anyone tried the Wellshire breakfast sausages? I can’t buy themlocally and it seems from the website that they are only availableonline by the case. I’d hate to order a case and have my kids hatethem!Any feedback on Wellshire sausages or other ideas would be greatlyappreciated! (mamommy2001@…) Another online source that sellsWelshire sausage by the pack would be great as well. (I’ve asked alocal health food store to order some for me but they never have.)
Margarines
Migdal is a margarine, and like all margarines (with very few exceptions) itcontains artificials, and very likely soy as well. Cornmeal, palm shortening,or millet based homemade “margarines” are the ONLY ones I’m aware of that arefree of artificials, soy, and all traces of dairy. If anyone knowsdifferently, I am waiting anxiously to hear about them!
