If you think your child has a phenol intolerance, but already takes abroad enzyme, do you need one specific to phenol intolerance? I do nothave her on a broad one yet, was planning to start that in the morning,but was reading about phenol and was just wondering if a regular enzymewould address this.

My son has been doing well on GFCF. He is 4. We have been on it forabout 2 weeks, after a week or so of withdrawal symptoms, he wasgreat for the last 3 or 4 days. Yesterday, however, he went to aplay date and the mom (with my permission ) gave him two traderjoe’s mini meringue cookies, chocolate, for dessert. She is nothome right now but I remember there were no dairy in the ingredientsthat she read to me, and she said the chocolate saidcocoa…alkaline process.

Right after the playdate he had his OT appt..and he was reallyhyper, and cried when he had to leave. We blamed it on schedulingthe playdate right before OT. Then today at preschool, afterseveral weeks of improvement, he had his worst day ever. Tantrumsall over the place, stuff smells bad, etc etc etc. Then he is veryclumsy getting out of the car and fell down. One of the teacherswas a sub today but this seems more pervasive.

SHould I suspect the cookies? HELP! Please tell me it was thecookies. I want this diet to work.

My daughter has had nosebleeds from time to time. The last time she had oneat school and it was hard for the nurse to stop it. I took her right away toher Dr and he said if it was always from the same nostril that she might needit cauterized but otherwise he thought her nose was just dry and she might bedigging in it. He had me put a saline spray in her nose plus some vaselinebefore bed. I did that a while and that seemed to do the trick.

What the heck are we suppose to feed her? Also if I am pregnant andsuppose to be avoiding those itens..how are my babies going to get thenutrition they need to grow? I am just at my wits end. HELP!

Is there such a thing of a cal mag that is either not loaded with sugar anddyes, and is ESPECIALLY tasteless. My son actually will run away screaming NO idont want calcium now.

I have been giving my son Acidophilus for a few weeks and noticedthat his breath became very bad not long after we started it. Iread on here that this could mean it was killing of some bacteriaovergrowth.

Sure enough, we just got back his Metabolic Analysis Profile. Idon’t understand most of it but bacterial dysbiosis is listed as 7on a scale of 0-10 (from Great smokies lab). I have order a betterprobiotic that was recommended to me made by Klaire.

I have a few questions I’m hoping you guys can help me out with.First, does sugar feed bad bacteria growth like it does yeast?Also, does the die-off of the bad bacteria cause behavior problemslike I have read yeast die off does? I’ve read about people givingactive charcoal to help with yeast die off….do you do this withbad bacteria die off? What should I expect in the process.

How hard is this to correct and how long should I expect it totake. How will I know if the problem is better, short of runninganother lab test? My child’s bowel movements are normal, and heisn’t complaining of stomach problems. I’m not aware of any outwaresymptoms. He is however very sensative to many foods.

Do I understand correctly that I should change the type of probioticthat I give him from time to time? Do I always give him a probioticjust to keep the intestines healthy or is there a negative to doingthat? The one I have now says to give it 1/2 hour before mealtime. Do I always do this? Does it have to be followed by food?Answers to these….or any other questions I need to know aboutprobiotics and bacterial dysbiosis would be appreciated. I won’tsee the DAN doc until mid November….wanted to start addressingthis before then.

My son is 3 year-old and 32 LB. Since his constipation is under control, Ilike to start yeast control using GSE liquid. I bought a NutriBiotic GSE liquid(2 FL.OZ) from WholeFood.

In the GSE bottle’s label, it says that mix 1-3 drops in a glass of water orjuice. My son doesn’t drink a lot juice. If I put GSE in juice, it is difficultfor me to make him to drink all the juice.

Please recommend dosage and how to feed GSE. It will be highly appreciated ifyou could share your experience.

Has anyone heard anything good or bad about this? Someone broughtthis to my attention for my son and honestly, it scares me. I justdon’t know enough about it yet, I need to do my research. I thought Iwould ask some seasoned parents as well Thanks for any inputeither way!
